preliminary task

at the beginning of the year we were told to produce a preliminary task at this stage we had no idea what we were doing and how to do it. since then we have learnt a lot on how to film and what looks best. with several lessons worth of techniques and how to film and about angles we produced a opening title sequence.
after filming our preliminary task we learnt several different techniques to improve our filming.
- we learn that we should always use a tripod and not to film long scenes using a handheld camera as it makes the filming shaky and in some cases it can be blurry if the camera is not a auto focus camera.
- we were also told that we were not to zoom in when filming but to cut filming and move the camera.
- we were taught about continuity errors and how to ensure the person being filmed is wearing the same clothing.
- we were told that for our OTS we must produce a plan involving a storyboard, shooting schedule and a risk assessment
when looking back at the prelim task we realised that our technique when filming has been drastically improved as the work is more in focus and is not shaky as we have used a tripod when filming.
for our ots we had a good idea as to what we wished to do as we took time to plan what we wanted it to look like whereas the preliminary task was anything that popped into our minds. we had been made aware of ten horror shots that are used in modern horror films, we tried to incorperate those into our ots.
In our ots we have thought about sounds and editing, we chose to remove the sound and place eerie music over the top in order to make it horror. whereas in out preliminary task we had background sounds. in terms of editing we have added effects over the top of the film to make it more 'horror fitting' in our preliminary task we didn't do any editing and this made the preliminary look sloppy.
